Ohio State Buckeyes
Seasons -- 2005 -- 2006 -- 2007 -- 2008 -- 2009
2009 Record - 11-2
2010 Rose Bowl Victors -- BUCKEYES over OREGON -- 26-17!!!
The Ohio State Buckeyes played an outstanding game, and Oregon also played a very good game. It was close most of the game, though the Buckeyes led most of the way. Terelle Pryor was named MVP, and the Buckeyes defense came up big. Ohio State can finally hang its hat on a BCS win again. The Buckeyes have appeared in 8 BCS bowl games, which leads all NCAA teams. The now hold a 5-3 record in BCS bowl games. The Buckeyes finished the season with a record of 11-1, and you have to think next season could be quite special. Go BUCKEYES!!! - 1/1/10

Buckeyes Sloppy, But Tressel Continues Dominance Of Michigan, 21-10
Again the Buckeyes owned the Wolverines. Ohio State has won 8 of their last 9 games, and 6 in a row, a first. Ohio State has now won 3 in a row in Ann Arbor. Ohio State now has concluded their regular season, and will likely face Oregon in the Rose Bowl. This also gives our team the fifth straight Big Ten title in a row, and this one is an outright win. I would imagine as long as Tressel continues his dominance of Michigan, he'll always have a job. - 11/21/09

OSU Wins Big Ten Title, Beats Iowa In OT, 27-24!!!
Today, the Buckeyes clinched atleast a share of their 5th straight Big Ten title. Tressel now has Michigan in his sites. It appears the Buckeyes are in good position to win, however this is still Michigan, and they can always beat OSU. Iowa could have contended this season, and was definitely a high quality team, but Northwestern effectively sealed their fate. Likely Iowa goes to the Outback Bowl, or Capital One Bowl. I just hope the Big Ten puts up better numbers during bowl season this year. Michigan comes to town looking to avoid a losing season, and would love to smite OSU. I hope the team is ready for this. Either way, Go Buckeyes. - 11/14/09

OSU Beats Penn St, Gets Share Of Big Ten Lead, 24-7
Today Terelle Pryor had a good game, and the defense shut down Penn St. Iowa lost to Northwestern today, and the Big Ten lead is now shared by Ohio State. OSU is still really missing their running game, and needs to improve the offensive line, but they look to be better next season. We'll see what happens. - 11/7/09
|
Defense Provides Third Shutout Of The Year, OSU over New Mexico St., 45-0
New Mexico St offered zero resistance to the Buckeyes today. Evidently it was treat, and they did all the scoring in 2 quarters. Not much to say, except the meat of the season is next. The Buckeyes will need to go 3-0 for them to win the Big Ten title for another year. Let's hope they can do it, but this is not going to be a walk in the park. - 10/31/09
|
Ohio State Gets Offense, Beats Minnesota, 38-7
The Buckeyes got a late start, but capitalized on turnovers, and their offense showed up. Terrelle Pryor had a better game, throwing 2 tds, and rushing for another. The Buckeyes are a team reloading, which is what's happening. I believe they will improve, and we will see better production. Anyhow, next up is New Mexico St., Go Buckeyes!!! - 10/26/09
|
Buckeyes Get Stunned At Purdue, 26-18!!!
The Buckeyes had a lousy offense, and turned the ball over 5 times. They lost to a good, but unranked Purdue team. This will send the Buckeyes tumbling in the rankings. I am going to say that Jim Bollman needs to hire an offensive line coach, and again I'll state that Jim Heacock has GOT to go. The Buckeyes will never be a serious threat for a National Title, as long as these 2 parts of the game don't improve. The defense looks great sometimes, but I've watched too many great teams come in here, and just blow us out of the water. After this season, they had better consider this. Anyhow, next week comes Minnesota, they are also tough. Go Buckeyes. - 10/17/09
|
Buckeyes Use Defense, Kick Return, Beat Wisconsin - 31-13
Not much offense, but OSU used defense, and special teams to beat Wisconsin, 31-13. Wisconsin had a good game offensively, having 22 first downs, to 8. OSU has struggled most of the year offensively against quality defenses. I've been screaming for Heycock, I think they need an offensive line coach for starters. Either way, OSU leads the Big Ten. Go Buckeyes!!!
|
Ohio State Beats Indiana, 33-14
The team looked solid, but made a lot of mistakes during the game. Mistakes that could easily result in a loss to a better team. We need our team to do better, and they need to open up the play calling, like they used to. Still, a strong victory should be celebrated. Go Buckeyes!
|
Ohio State Shuts Out Illinois, 30-0
Well, the offense didn't put up big numbers, but the defense did it's job, and OSU won easily. Hopefully we're witnessing the team start to come of age, and get better. I suppose we'll find out soon enough. Next week, @ Indiana. Michigan beat Indiana 36-33, let's see how we do.
|
Ohio State Rebounds, Steamrolls Toledo
Well, the offense looked better, but they weren't really challenged either. That said, they beat up the team they were expected to beat up. I can't really say much about this game, Pryor looks to be improving, which is expected. The offense will likely improve with time. Next week, OSU gets to start the Big10 season, playing Illinois, in Columbus. We'll see what next week brings.

Ohio State Loses to USC, As Usual
I watched Ohio State put up a good game against USC, but come up short, over the middle, as always when they lose the big games. I'm going to keep saying Heycock needs to go, until someone figures out to get rid of this guy! Ohio State really has no swagger left. Noone is scared by them anymore. If OSU wants to brag, they have to do 1 simple thing... WIN! As long as they go in and lose in big games, they're never going to get respect, and frankly, right now they don't deserve it. I will say we play the big boys quite well, but it's always the same result. The other team decides they have to win the game, so they start throwing passes down the middle, and of course, with OSU in a zone blitz, as always, they get burned. USC did the same thing, winning 18-15 on a game ending drive. Over the middle, over the middle, over the middle... how many times? When will the coaching staff at OSU realize that zone blitz doesn't work when everyone knows damned well that's what you'll throw at them? I wanted to puke. OSU doesn't deserve to mentioned in the same breath of contenders, till they can win the big game. Sorry, but I'm mad, I'm tired of watching it happen the same way over and over and over again.

Ohio State Survives Scary First Game
The Ohio State Buckeyes got lucky today, with Brian Rolle's pickoff of a game tying 2pt conversion, which he returned all the way, scoring 2 points for OSU. OSU is ranked #6, and frankly, I think they're overrated this season. I predict the Buckeyes will go 8-4, as I think they're not the best in the Big Ten this season. Michigan won today, which makes it look like this year's annual grudge match will be a tough one. If Jim Tressel can beat Michigan this year, he will set a Buckeye record for the 2nd straight year, beating Michigan 6 times in a row. Still, they better be paying attention to next week's competition, a USC team that, despite a true freshman quarterback, looks powerful. The Buckeyes, naturally, keep playing the zone blitz on defense, and will get burned on that, as they did today. Heycock needs to go, he's not championship quality coaching. We'll see, Go Buckeyes!

Ohio State Picked #6 In Preseason
The Ohio State Buckeyes field a strong team this year, with returning quarterback Tyrell Pryor. All of the sports media is talking about 3 titles in 4 years for Florida. I will say that they certainly have as good a shot at it as anyone else. The SEC is a strong conference, and the Big Ten isn't as strong as they should be, by their own choice... Not playing a game after the third week in November is the thing, I feel, keeps the Big Ten weak in bowl season. Either way, Penn State is ranked #9. Joe Pa seriously needs to retire. I'm sure there are those who would disagree with me, but I think he's a problem for the program, and needs to become more of an ambassador for Penn St. The Buckeyes have a chance to beat Michigan for an unprecedented 6th straight time, but who knows? Michigan could surprise everyone this year, and be decent, but they won't be the pushovers they were last year. Bring on the 2009 NCAA Football season.
