Indians 2010 Season Starts

Well, a few days ago the Indians started their 2010 campaign, and I would bet against them making the playoffs, let alone winning the series. They're 7 games into the season, and already 2-5. Cleveland is a horrible town for sports. I'm 37 years of age, and during all of my life no Cleveland team in a major sport has won the championship. The Cavs could this year, but well it's still Cleveland. Anyhow, my continuing coverage of the Indians is on the Indians page. You can find 2006-2010 there, enjoy. - 4/13/10

Norway Sees Significantly Lower Infections Due To Change In Policy

Twenty five years ago, Norway's public health system changed their policy to discourage overuse of drugs, now they enjoy the lowest infection rate in the world. They chose to push an agressive plan to stop using antibiotics, and to allow more sick days for workers. During the past year, 19,000 people, in the US, have died due to infections that recent studies say could be stopped, with great success. Yearly contagious staph infections kill thousands and thousands of patients in the best hospitals in Asia, Europe, and North America. Perhaps while we're busy "reforming" health care, we should take some measures to lower the cost in other ways than to pass pointless stupid laws. Irrespective, the US will not do the sensible thing until we have exhausted all other possibilities. - 1/4/10

2010 Rose Bowl Victors -- BUCKEYES over OREGON -- 26-17!!!

The Ohio State Buckeyes played an outstanding game, and Oregon also played a very good game. It was close most of the game, though the Buckeyes led most of the way. Terelle Pryor was named MVP, and the Buckeyes defense came up big. Ohio State can finally hang its hat on a BCS win again. The Buckeyes have appeared in 8 BCS bowl games, which leads all NCAA teams. The now hold a 5-3 record in BCS bowl games. The Buckeyes finished the season with a record of 11-1, and you have to think next season could be quite special. Go BUCKEYES!!! - 1/1/10

Regional Finals Results

This weekend, all of the local teams but one had their seasons come to an end. Orrville lost to Ottawa-Glandorf, 21-20. Ashland fell to Lake Catholic, 45-42. Massillon Washington took revenge for their loss to Canton McKinley, 3 weeks ago, 10-7. Finally, Peninsula Woodridge lost to Chagrin Falls, 58-28. That leaves only Massillon Washington as an area team that is in the final 4. - 11/22/09

Buckeyes Sloppy, But Tressel Continues Dominance Of Michigan, 21-10

Again the Buckeyes owned the Wolverines. Ohio State has won 8 of their last 9 games, and 6 in a row, a first. Ohio State has now won 3 in a row in Ann Arbor. Ohio State now has concluded their regular season, and will likely face Oregon in the Rose Bowl. This also gives our team the fifth straight Big Ten title in a row, and this one is an outright win. I would imagine as long as Tressel continues his dominance of Michigan, he'll always have a job. - 11/21/09
