October 4, 2009 - What a tragic season. 65-97, 32 games under. Let's hope the Indians find success in their search for a manager, and perhaps can turn in a better season next year. That wraps up a 2009 we wish we could forget.
September 30, 2009 - They're 65-93 now, 28 games under. This lousy season has resulted in the Indians firing Eric Wedge. During his 7 year tenure, the team routinely had a lousy start to the season. They came within 1 victory of getting to the 2007 World Series, but Boston beat us in 3 straight, and another 4 netted the Series for the Red Sox. 2008 saw our team go 81-81, and many thought we would bounce back, but 2009 has been an abject failure. I am happy to see him go, I never much cared for his managing style.
September 18, 2009 - They're 61-86 now, 25 games under. This is the worst season for the Indians since 1991, and they're very easily on par to lose 100+ games. I want everyone fired, same as a lot of people. There's no good reason the Indians can't be a contending team in this town, or atleast to contend for the AL Central. This year is a completely pathetic effort.
August 23, 2009 - They're 54-69 now, 15 games under. They traded away all of their talent, and they're actually winning more. They can't even lose right.
July 25, 2009 - And now they're 40-58, 18 games under. Still no bullpen, not much offense, it's just been a lousy season. The Tribe has broken from last place maybe 3 times this season?
June 21, 2009 - And now they're 30-42, 12 games under. This team has no bullpen whatsoever, if they did, they'd likely win a lot more games. No doubt the bullpen needs upgraded, now the question is, will the owner open up the wallet a bit, and get some? Not this season, but watch for them to trade away some really big talent.
May 21, 2009 - I really don't feel much like writing this season, they're just not putting up a decent year. This isn't even remotely competitive. They're 16-26, 10 games under .500.
May 11, 2009 - What can I possibly say? They won 1? After they first lost 4. This season is a nightmare, and the fact that no changes have taken place in the front office, or management, tells me that the owner of this club, just doesn't much care what the team does on the field. Why own a baseball team, if you're not going to strive to succeed?
May 7, 2009 - Cleveland's struggling bullpen helped the Red Sox break an 84-year old record. They scored 12 runs in the 6th inning, all before the Indians recorded a single out. Absolutely inexcusable.
May 6, 2009 - Cleveland has managed to do something this season that the mighty Yankees haven't done, which is beat the Red Sox. Victor Martinez continues his tear through AL pitching. Still, this is not a championship caliber team, and it's obvious.
May 5, 2009 - As usual, the bullpen let us down. Cleveland has been outscored all season long, and this looks like the season is well past over, and it's May 5. Ridiculous. The Cleveland fans deserve better than this, and proved as much with 455 consecutive sellouts.
May 1, 2009 - Well, finally Carl Pavano had a good start. Since having a horrible season start, the Indians have played mostly .500 ball. I don't know what's up, but this isn't working.
April 28, 2008 - Tonight the Indians bullpen kept up, and with clutch hitting, and an error, in the 9th. Cleveland wins, 9-8.
April 26, 2009 - Aaron Laffey gave the Tribe 7 strong innings, and Cleveland got a win today. Still, 4 runs isn't exactly a breakout performance by the offense.
April 25, 2009 - For the second day in a row, the offense looked quite flat. Twins pitching was dominant again. Cleveland needs to rebuild sad to say. Things have gone terribly awry, and it's obvious that management has no care about this. Cleveland baseball is now back to it's old ways.
April 23, 2009 - Today, Grady Sizemore was the hero, with a 3-run blast in the eighth inning, to lead Cleveland to it's first series victory of the year. Go Tribe!
April 21, 2009 - Tonight the Indians turned double-plays in 6 innings, the defense was stunning. The bullpen on the other hand, not so much. Grady Sizemore hit a 3 run homer.
April 19, 2009 - And the Indians lose again, going to 4-9. They need to be more consistent. The big problem I see, is getting decent pitching.
April 18, 2009 - Today the Indians made history!!! The Yankees gave up 14 runs to the Tribe in the second inning, which set a record for the most runs in any 2nd inning ever! The fact that the Yankees gave up 13 hits in that inning, was the most they have ever allowed to an opponent in an inning. And the Indians tied their own record of scoring 22 runs in New York. Fausto Carmona had a decent day. And now the Indians are 4 games under .500, and it's thankfully too early in the season for that to be too relavent.
April 14, 2009 - Tonight's game was yet another loss... 1-7, this is a horrible way to start a season. The Indians certainly look to be giving themselves an uphill battle to get to the top, if they can.
April 13, 2009 - The Indians lost yet another game, and so far I'm not very impressed. No pitching. It's crazy. I hope the remainder of the season is better.
April 10, 2009 - This is not a good start to the season, not only have they lost 4 straight, but they have been outscored 42-21 in these 4 games. They're getting shelled. When you score 5, 8, and 7 runs you should be able to win. Nope.
April 5, 2009 - And as of tomorrow, the season finally starts. I haven't paid enough attention this spring, so I'm not sure what to expect, but then I don't really believe that's possible anyhow. Some teams you know won't do squat, but other than that, it's anyone's guess. Either way, let's see how the season plays out...
